Underveis has arrived in Trinidad in the Caribbean. Even though we had periods
with little wind, the voyage went according to plan.

SINES: Underveis has reached southern shores, at

Paris - the city of
lights
PARIS: Louvre, the Eiffel tower, Champs Elysees,
Moulin Rouge. We celebrated New Years in Paris, also called the city of lights,
in the home of Randi and Jean-Charles Burgoint. We enjoyed ourselves so much we
stayed for an entire month.

Omaha Beach 63 years
after
OMAHA BEACH: On the 6th of June an allied armada
previously unseen in sheer size, commenced landing operations against German
coastal defences on the coast of Normandy in France. A few bloodstained hours
later, the beaches had become household names around the world.

Cirque Nouveau
PARIS: Most people think of France in terms of
fantastic food and wine, football, fashion and the Eiffel tower. Finni, on his
part, mainly thinks of France in terms of Cirque Noveau, which most people have
never heard about, nor do they know what it is.

Norwegian Christmas in
London
LONDON: The Christmas holidays are ususally the
time when you miss your relatives and friends the most. The food, social life
and family traditions go deep inside most people. So also for us at Underveis.
We weren´t prepared to take any chances, but got on the train to London and the
Norwegian Church Abroad there, where we had the most Norwegian style Christmas
in our lifetimes.

Christmas treat from 5th grade
pupils at Rost elementary school
The pupils in 5th grade at Rost Elementary school have drawn some
wonderful drawings, and posted them to us in Paris as a Christmas surprise.
These pupils have adapted our voyage to be their project in geography class for
the next three years.

BREST:Underveis has reached Brest in France and
we are now taking a couple of weeks on shore to celebrate Christmas and visit
good friends in Paris and London.

people think about George Best, IRA, irish whiskey and more than 80 years of
bloody civil war. But did you know that the Titanic was built here? We had to
seek shelter from a storm for a few days, and found a city with strong contrasts
and close ties to its recent history.

Scotland forever!
SCOTLAND: Our journey through the Caledonian
canal was not only the first time Underveis sailed in freshwater, or the first
time she travelled above sea level. During our passage through Scotland we also
experienced our first frosty nights, a firm reminder that old man Father Winter
is breathing mercilessly down our spines as we sail steadily into the south.

Scottish highlands, the season for supernatural phenomena reaches its peak in
the realm of Nessie the Loch Ness monster. Already 20 minutes after we entered
Loch Ness, we caught the first glimpse of her.

Shetland
SHETLAND: Left hand driving, cheap beer, nice
people, many Norwegians, stunning nature. Shetland has it all. We have taken a
ride through the islands and tried to experience some of the things that these
islands have to offer for visitors. We shall try to bring our readers a short

BERGEN: We are ready to go again,
and we are only waiting for favorable winds before we set sails for
Shetland.

Rough ride for S/Y
Underveis
BERGEN: We are currently back in Bergen again,
and we expect to be staying here until early next week. A very strong gale in
the middle of the North Sea ground our ship to a halt. The wind ripped our sails
to shreds and our gearbox went heyday, so we eventually had to find our way back
to terra firma. But we expect to be back in business in a few days!
